Sunstone Aftercare Routine
Your tattoo is a collaboration between us, created with intention, discipline and care. The healing process is where your role begins.
Proper aftercare is essential for preserving the detail, contrast and longevity of your tattoo.

Because a tattoo is an open wound, how you treat it directly impacts how it heals and how it will look years from now. This is not a step to overlook. By following these guidelines closely, you protect the artwork, support your body's natural healing process, and ensures that the final result matches the quality we strive for.

The steps below are designed to make your healing process clean, simple, and effective.

Wash Hands
Always wash your hands thouroughly before touching or cleaning your tattoo. This prevents bacteria, dirt and oil transfer from your hands to the tattoo.

Pat Dry
Pat the fresh tattoo lightly with a disposable paper towel or allow the area to air dry. Avoid reusing the same cloth for multiple days.

Remove Bandage
Carefully remove the applied bandage from the area. Instructions vary depending on artist application so be mindful to clarify with your artist before removal.

Moisturize Area
Using an artist/industry-approved ointment, lightly moisturize the entire tattoo area well. Be careful not to apply too much ointment. A little goes a long way.

Wash Lightly
With warm water, clean hands and unscented antibacterial soap, lightly lather and rinse the fresh tattoo. Don't use exfoliating scrubs.

Repeat Process
Repeat the process 3-5 times a day for best results. Pay close attention to the entire healing process and be sure to consult your artist with any questions or concerns.
